The journey of an athlete
New athletes starting their journey with Ludosport begin with the rank of Novizio learning Form 1. Form 1 characterises itself with a complete set of attack and defence techniques to allow new athletes to familiarise themselves with the basics of Ludosport. Upon the completion of the basic techniques of Form 1, the athlete will then study combat tricks and strategies applicable within Form 1 and later forms as an advanced portion of the form. Upon reaching one academic year of studying the form, the athlete would then undergo a form exam and a rank up exam.
The form exam will allow the athlete’s instructors to assess if the athlete has understood the concepts and techniques behind the form enough to move on to the next form. The student will keep using what they have learned in every form for the rest of their journey in Ludosport as truly mastering a form takes plenty more combat experience and practice than just one year of classes. Upon passing the Form 1 exam, the athlete may move onto Form 2.
The rank up exam will allow the athlete’s instructors to asses if the athlete has adapted to the ethical aspect of Ludosport. While wearing the Ludoposrt uniform or representing the sport in any other way the athlete must follow the idea of Se.Cu.Ri. https://www.ludosport.net/securi.html
The rank up exam will promote the rank of the athlete to Initiazo. The athlete will dawn a fuller uniform consisting of more than just a training shirt and pants with the Ludosport logo to show other’s that they are more than just a beginner.
Moving onto Form 2 the athlete will have to move around more explosively and more fluidly. Compared to Form 1, Form 2 drops the idea of a balanced offence and defence and stretches the reach of the lightsaber out towards the opponent in explosive movements. With a lot more focus on the offence, the combat becomes more dynamic and tiring, so the athlete will have to use the stamina they are bound to build up while training Form 1. After passing their Form 2 exam, the athlete will be able to move not to Form 3, but instead to Course Y.
Course Y is not a form like the basic forms 1 and 2 the athlete would learn thus far. Instead, it serves as a taster and as a tutorial of basics required for the advanced forms. Here, the athlete would get to train with the staff and dual blades, the speciality weapons for the first time. The preparation the athlete will receive in Course Y will prepare them for the difficulty of training the advanced forms. The techniques the athlete will be introduced to in Course Y are borrowed from all three of the advanced forms.
Around the same time as the athlete completes Course Y, they may participate in their second rank exam to the rank of Accademico. In this exam, the athlete will present their affinity with the base forms in combat and theory. Passing this exam allows the athlete to select the colour of their uniform’s subtunic and lightsaber blade in official combat.
Those 3 years will be enough of a taster for the athlete to choose what to do next. After Course Y, the athlete may choose to go into the reactive Form 3; the mobile Form 4; or the aggressive and active form 5, in any order and in any weapon. There are further forms and ranks to be achieved. Obviously there is a recommended path, but what would you choose? Is there a strategy that you feel is perfect for you? Or is there a speciality weapon that you think is superior? There is only one way to find out and we are willing to take that journey with you.
One name. One sky.
